BAE Shipyard Upgrade Williamstown

This project was required to accommodate the manufacture of the new landing delicopter Dock ships to enable BAE to fulfill its contract with the Australian Defence Force.

SCE Australia engineers were responsible for the structural design of a significant upgrade to the BAE systems shipyard in Williamstown to accommodate the manufacture of the two new landing helicopter dock ships. This upgrade included the design and construction of a new construction hall and block blast facility, the extension of the existing unit blast facility, part making extension and panel fabrication shop extension. It also included modifications to the existing buildings and the design of several heavy duty pavements throughout the site, to accommodate ship module transportation.
