Costco Docklands

Costco Docklands was the first Costco store constructed on Australian Soil. The structural engineers at SCE Australia were an integral part of the success of achieving this project of significant importance for Costco.

Costco Docklands was predominantly designed in Seattle USA but it was structural engineers from SCE who were responsible for reviewing this design, modifying it to suit Australian industry practices and certifying the design in Australia. Elements such as the large feature canopy were wholly designed by engineers at SCE.

The engineers from SCE also fulfilled a construction assistance role by completing the following works:

• Reviewing fabrication drawings

• Responding to RFI’s

• Regular site inspections of the constructed works
