Owners Engineering

An owners engineer is typically engaged by the client/owner to protect the owners interests by reviewing the technical design and construction works for adherence to the project specification. The engagement of an owners engineer can result in a more successful project for the end client while minimising any ongoing problems that may have otherwise resulted.

Depending on the contracting model adopted for a project, SCE Australia can provide an owners engineering service by providing the following services:

• Providing advice at all stages throughout the project life cycle

• Developing a reference design and/or performance specifications for design and construct tenders

• Reviewing technical content of contractors tenders

• Reviewing and commenting on 3rd party designs on behalf of the client

• Undertaking 3rd party independent technical verifications

• Inspecting construction works to review adherence with the design intent
